It’s our 3rd Birthday….

Wow, we are so incredibly grateful to celebrate 3 years in business. We want to just say a huge thank you to our amazing clients, sensational candidates and our incredible network for being a part of the journey so far. We thought there's no better day to share with you our journey so far, the lessons we have learned and what we have in store for the future.

The Journey So Far:

3 years ago, we had a vision…. A vision to create a recruitment business with a difference. We saw a gap in the market and knew that things could be done differently. Offering exceptional service and innovative solutions to clients would enable us to disrupt the norm and set the benchmark for the industry. We have built a business based around relationships, transformation, adding value and solving problems with a culture derived by our core values and those of the clients we represent.

Our mission was always to become the number one recruitment partner in the North West using innovation to set us apart from our competitors. From day one we integrated video into our proposition enabling clients to see we could add true value to the way they recruit, revolutionising the process for them and their potential employees setting them apart from their competitors. Although utilising video software has definitely enabled us to get noticed in the market the true differentiator for us has always been the level of service to both our clients and candidates.

Throughout the last three years we have worked with some amazing clients and outstanding candidates, matching one with the other seamlessly. Our mission is to enable our clients to stress less and sleep more and to empower our candidates to be the best version of themselves so that they can go on to land their forever role. We have innovated and evolved year after year, looking at more effective and efficient ways of doing things to again continue adding value to the businesses we partner with. What was a “recruitment agency” on day one is now a consultancy business whereby our ability to consult with businesses at a strategic level and advise, offering flexible solutions that are right their business really does stand us apart. We have made some great business decisions, and some not so great (although learned from each and every one). Our plan has changed more times than we care to think about. We have pivoted, adjusted and re-evaluated at endless points of the journey. There were times we were too busy and others where we didn’t know if we’d make it through the following month. If you think of a roller coaster ride, well that is the journey of recruitment life and that of a start up business. There are some incredible highs but equally some real lows, it’s how you chose to react to those lows that makes the real difference. As a business the journey has certainly made us stronger and is the reason we are where we are today. We are grateful everyday for everything we have achieved in such a short space of time.

Lessons Learned:

  • Don’t lose sight of your why

You set up a business for a reason which relates to your why, your purpose in life. It’s easy to get engrossed into your business that you can forget why you’re doing it in the first place. Remind yourself daily why you’re doing what you’re doing and make that your number one motivator.

  • Know your Value

If you truly believe in yourself and your service, then that comes with a value. You need to be clear what your value is and then stick with it. Don’t allow anyone to dictate what they will pay you or when. Don’t discount just because others are. Know your value, charge what your services are worth, and you will find you do less work for more.

  • Have a Niche

Whatever your business, you have to stand apart from your competition in order to get noticed. Whether its your service, industry, sector – you need to be niche and offer something others don’t otherwise you will find yourself in that rat race that becomes about price. Offering exceptional service and having something that truly adds value and solves problems has to be your number one driver.

  • Plan & Pivot

Business plans are great (& essential) however just because you have a plan for each year, month, week doesn’t mean that wont change. It will evolve and change constantly as you have new ideas, the market changes, a pandemic strikes. All of these things are out of your control however what is within your control is to ensure you adapt and pivot where you need to in order to ensure your plan is relevant and continues to evolve.

  • Never Stop Learning

Lifelong learning is crucial to keep on top of your game. Reading books, listening to podcasts or becoming a member of a local networking group will enable you to surround yourself with positive people whereby you will continue to learn every single day. Everyone makes mistakes in business, its all part of learning. Make it your mission to continue learning every day. It will keep you on your toes, focused and driven to achieve your why.

  • Make time for YOU

It’s so easy to work day and night but working long hours isn’t necessarily going to make you more productive, quite the opposite actually. Create great daily habits that keep you motivated and productive. Find times of the day where you are in flow and work best and then build in times for you whether that be exercise, meditation, reading, listening to music – whatever it is, build it into your schedule and make it happen. You’ll find yourself more focused and more productive for sure.
