Relationship Manager

Our client who specialise in bridging and development finance are looking for an experienced Relationship manager to join their team. They are experts in short term lending such as bridging loans & development finance and therefore it is imperative you have experience within both. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Relationship Manager who has excellent personal and communication skills along with the ability to assess key information quickly and react quickly to new opportunities as they arise. This is a more than a typical BDM role as you will be expected to originate, assess and check the viability of a loan before presenting to the underwriting team. This is a sales role, based from home with occasional visits to the office. As Relationship Manager you will also be required to attend external meetings with brokers/introducers and other key external stakeholders when required. Our client is offering a competitive salary with great earning potential, reporting directly to the Business Development Director. The successful candidate will be based in either the Midlands, Yorkshire or the North West.

Role:

We were set up in 2016 and lend finance in England & Wales with private funds from our founders. Specialising in bridging and development finance, we pride ourselves on our professionalism, speed of delivery and the individual attention given to every deal we receive.

We are one of the fastest growing short-term lenders in the UK. Based in the beautiful city of Chester, we have plans to expand our business aggressively over the next two years so the opportunity for somebody joining now is immense.

We have a flat, lean management structure that allows everyone the opportunity to make a difference.

All of our funding comes from our founders which means that we do not suffer from a lack of financial resources that other lenders do, particularly when dealing with a such a devastating once in a lifetime event such as COVID-19.

Not a single member of staff was furloughed or made redundant and we continued to lend throughout the pandemic.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to the Business Development Director by regularly liaising with brokers, property developers and other professional introducers. This will include (but not be limited to):

  • Manage new loan enquiries by assessing the information provided, collate relevant supporting information and revert back to the broker/introducer with your findings
  • Follow up existing loan enquiries by contacting the broker/introducer for additional information and updates
  • Maintain up to date and accurate client records using the company’s in-house CRM system
  • Develop your own network of brokers/introducers
  • Work closely with the Director of Risk & Recovery to ensure all departments are working in unison and stay on message

Required Skills:

  • Specific industry experience is a pre-requisite, and we will only consider candidates who have previously worked for a bridging and development lender
  • Excellent personal and communication skills are a must, as is the ability to assess key information quickly and react quickly to new opportunities as they arise. It goes without saying that every candidate must have a positive attitude and a desire and determination to make a success of the role.
  • This is a more than a typical BDM role as the successful candidate will be expected to originate, assess and check the viability of a loan (in line with our credit policy) before presenting to the underwriting team.
  • We work in a fast-moving industry so the successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and have the confidence to present to the Board.

What’s in it for YOU?

  • £35k - £55k basic salary max (dependent on skill set/experience & proof of their current/last job earnings will be required). £50-70k OTE with very achievable targets but please note: Bonus is paid annually every January.
  • After successful completion of their 6-month probation period, the basic salary will be reviewed upwards.
  • No car or car allowance but that will be taken into consideration on salary. Mileage paid as per HMRC rates (0.45p per mile up to 10k and 0.25p per mile thereafter)
  • We have a flat, lean management structure that allows everyone the opportunity to make a difference and progress
