Conveyancing Fee Earner

We are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner to join a rapidly growing and successful firm based in Chester due to continued growth. Our client is an outstanding North West legal firm, offering comprehensive legal advice and support to individuals, their families and businesses alike across the UK. As Conveyancing Fee Earner you will be marketing the services of the conveyancing department, while handling a large number of case files across the conveyancing spectrum, as well as providing general advice and support  You will be either be a qualified solicitor, legal executive or licensed conveyancer with at least 2 to 5 years fee earning experience in conveyancing. As a Fee Earner you will demonstrate a client focused approach with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to work in conveyancing and property and to provide a first-class service to your clients. You will have at least 2 years’ experience within conveyancing and are looking for a well-established firm in which you can continue to progress you career. About The Role:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner/Solicitor to join our busy Conveyancing Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a Conveyancer looking to take the next step in their career working within a friendly team and with the role offering genuine scope for career development.

Applicants should have a strong desire to work in Conveyancing & Property Law and to provide a first-rate service to our clients. You will run a full caseload of Residential Conveyancing matters from inception to completion to include sales and purchase and re-mortgages.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team and produce work quickly and accurately often within tight timescales. You will therefore have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure and strong IT skills, particularly when using Excel, Word and Outlook.

In addition to the above, you will need to be flexible and self-motivated. You will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive upon a demanding workload. You will therefore have previous experience of running a similar case load.

An entrepreneurial flair or interest in IT development would also be a welcome asset given the Department’s commitment to growth and to involving all its staff in developing and improving our working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with all aspects of a Conveyancing transaction and manage your own caseload
  • Deal with a mixed caseload of Freehold/Leasehold/New Build/Share Ownership/Help to Buy sale and purchase transactions.
  • Provide a high quality of service and work.
  • Ensure that matters for which responsible are run efficiently.
  • Carry out invoicing and credit control on matters for which has responsibility.
  • Act honestly and diligently and at all times abide by the relevant professional codes of conduct that may from time to time be in force.
  • Working cohesively within a team
  • Preparing and processing letters and forms
  • Generating revenue through business development, being able to demonstrate strong client management skills

About You:

  • Previous “all round” residential conveyancing experience as a fee earner (minimum 2+years) ideally gained within a busy residential department
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, especially client-facing
  • Ability to deal with a mixed caseload including sales and purchases, re-mortgages and new builds - freehold and leasehold - and registered and unregistered titles
  • Experience with shared ownership leases, right to buys, assents, severances of joint tenancies and general property matters
  • Networking ability with confidence to deal with third party suppliers/advisors, estate agents etc
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Case management experience
  • Interest and ability in business development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary client care skills
  • Sound IT skills – experience of case management systems & Microsoft packages. Full training on document management and practice management systems will be provided
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
